Saturday is our favorite day of the week and tomorrow will be busier than normal. August is Child Support Awareness Day at GrowRVA South of the James Market. Some of the highlights include:
- Richmond Fire Dept. (Station #20 from Forest Hill & Westover Hills Blvd.) will be attending from 8:15 am – 10:00 am.
- DMV 2Go Van will be coming to celebrate Child Support Awareness Day from 8:00 am – Noon. ID cards for adults & children + vehicle titles/decals/license plates & VA birth certificates & voter registration are all available on site. - Nutzy, The Richmond Flying Squirrel Mascot, will be dropping by for photos and autographs between 9:30-11 (approximate time).
- The Office of the Attorney General will be onsite, handing out information about VA Rules (a program for teens/parents/teachers) and you can find out more here: http://www.virginiarules.com/
- The Division of Child Support Enforcement will have a team onsite, engaging with members of the public and distributing reusable market bags, brochures, market bucks (while supplies last) and preliminary applications for child support.
As always, our vendors have been working hard for you. Highlights:
- Dog Bark Bones – your dog will thank you.
- Drumheller’s Orchard – Honey crisp apples will be at the market Saturday!! They are so excited.
- Goin Family Farm – they will have rib, New York strip, chuck eye, filet, andouille, bratwurst, chorizo, and kielbasa. Give their all beef Bologna and hot dogs a try.
- Vintage Bloom – Pick up a mason jar filled with colorful zinnias for yourself or to give as a gift for someone special!
