Memorial Day is Monday and please remember those who died while serving in the country’s armed forces. Norwood Cottage Bakery will proudly be displaying his Dad’s WWII service flag.
What a difference a week can make? Gorgeous weather, sun and a long weekend. Not the case last Saturday at South of the James Market, but RVA didn’t care. You came out and supported because you knew the vendors were there for you. If snow and ice doesn’t stop us, rain is a drop in the bucket (no pun intended). We are so grateful for the vendor and community support.
Highlights this week include:
- Cold Country Salmon – will have Coho Tenderloin Steaks, crosscut section of wild coho salmon. Perfect for grilling.
- Cricket Cove Soap – pick up a sample of the French Lavender Coconut Milk handmade soap! (While they last)
- Salty’s Ice Cream – this is their first market. Each week they will be featuring a flavor of ice cream that utilizes products from the South of the James Farmers Market vendors. This week’s Basil ice cream screams early summer time with it’s fresh vibrant flavor. Made with some of the best local RVA basil from Josh’s Jungle.

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, 8 – Noon. As always, stop by and visit a new vendor.
