Business Description: Traditional Irish Baking Recipes still used everyday throughout Ireland, we bake the best local ingredients to bring a little taste of Eireann to Richmond! We also have many GLUTEN FREE recipes including a Zucchini Bread, Banana Bread and Irish Tea Brack recipes.
When & how did you get started?
Moved to the U.S. in 2014 and decided to try something different. Some old family recipes seemed like a good idea.
What type of work did you do before becoming a vendor?
I used to work in explosives in Platinum Mines in South Africa!! Baking is a safer form of chemistry.
What are your greatest challenges with your business?
Getting use to a different palate here in the States. Adapting the recipes so that local people here would enjoy them.
Describe the process involved with creating one or more of your products?
Tea Brack – takes 4 days to make correctly. Fruit soaks in tea for 3 days, then add cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. Bake for 6 hours on a very low heat.
