It’s just about time to make those New Year’s resolutions! Have you thought of yours already? I love coming up with a list each year on New Year’s Day while I’m eating my black eyed peas and collard greens. Even if some goals are abandoned by February, there are always one or two things that I actually change for the better, and that’s what’s important.
Along with the obligatory personal resolutions (like eat less Nutella – one of the more quickly forgotten,) I also try to come up with some professional resolutions. This year I want to make and stick to a blogging schedule and launch my professional website in March. Simple, attainable, measurable goals.
If your resolution is to improve your small business, check this out: GrowRVA has teamed up with Barb Upchurch of Blueberry Marketing and myself to offer business-bettering workshops throughout the month of January at Hardywood Park Craft Brewery!
The workshops are informative and conversational, perfect for small business owners or would-be entrepreneurs who are interested in launching a food-based business in Richmond or the surrounding area. We’ll cover topics like determining the proper price point and creating a strategic marketing plan. We’ll take a look at how to make the farmer’s market work for each business – how to capture the attention of interested customers and keep them coming back week after week, even in the slow season.
Whether you’re a farmer, baker, or food truck owner, it’s hard to honestly assess your own business on its marketing and branding strengths. Your skills are in cultivating and making your products – But there’s more to a successful business than that.
GrowRVA is committed to helping its network of producers be as successful as possible – to network and grow together – for the good of the community. Each workshop will be followed by a Happy Hour where participants can relax and talk together while enjoying some of Hardywood’s finest!
